Signs of Spring

Now as we see the first spring flowers it is time to finish the yard clean-up and plan the annual flower beds.

Early crocuses in a bed surrounding a service berry bush. Early bulbs like the crocus are able to flower and re-nourish the bulb before the tree leaves appear. Therefore they can be planted under trees and bushes; areas that are too shaded for many other flowers.

Fall Leaf Collection

The city of Ann Arbor has announced that it will not collect leaves from the street this year *. You must place the leaves in your compost cart or in paper yard waste bags if you want them collected.

I offer my services for raking and bagging of your leaves. I can assist you, or do the work for you. My rate is $12.00/hour plus the cost of the yard waste bags if I supply the bags. I request a minimum of one hour at each job site, of course I prefer more.

I am also available to assist in all fall yard cleanup, bulb planting, and other yard maintenance.

Call or email to arrange a visit or if you have questions.

Snapdragons along an old stone Wall

I often like to plant some of the flowers that were popular years ago in the yards of the older homes. This planting of snapdragons is on the west side of Ann Arbor. Note how much the plants have branched and re-bloomed from where they were first cut back.

My name is Fred Bach. I have experience in planting, lawn maintenance, seasonal cleanup and snow removal. I have helped residents and organizations of Ann Arbor in planting and grounds maintenance.

I would like to work with you to improve the appearance of your yard or or the grounds of your organization.  Here is a photo of a past project.     GroundskeeperBach@gmail.com

An old border of tulips blooming again in the West side of Ann Arbor after extensive pruning of the overgrown forsythia. The forsythia was pruned last year. Now is the time to fertilize the early blooming bulbs.
